Who can get an ETA

Gulf countries
Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Europe
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.

North America, Central America and the Caribbean
Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Grenada, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and the United States.

South America
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Asia
Brunei, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Israel, Japan, Macao Special Administrative Region, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore and South Korea.

Taiwan
Passport holders can apply if their passport contains the national identification card number issued by the competent authority in Taiwan.

Africa
Mauritius and Seychelles.

Oceania
Australia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Tuvalu.

ETA validity: two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

Number of entries: multiple entries while the ETA remains valid.

Length of stay: eligible short visits of up to six months per visit.

Passport link: an ETA is linked to the passport used to apply. A replacement passport requires a new ETA if you still need one.

British and Irish citizens do not need an ETA.

British National (Overseas) passport holders do not need an ETA to visit the UK.

People with permission to live, work or study in the UK are also among those exempt. Other exemptions may apply; check the official guidance for your circumstances.
